Dear Friends & Members,
On Tuesday 25th of June 2019 the J-NS welcome our members to a summer event in the atelier and garden of artist and professor Wenche Gulbransen at Nesodden. On this occasion JNS-member Gulbransen will share with us her experiences from her artist life that is highly inspired by Japan. Gulbransen uses a broad variety of art expressions and her art comprises graphical work, drawings, sculptures and fountains. Fellow textile artist Trine Mauritz will complement Gulbransen with her experiences, and she also has strong relations to Japan. The Norwegian embassy in Tokyo is decorated with three of Mauritz’ textile works.
Wenche Gulbransen is also passionate about growing peonies. In her garden 75 different kinds of peonies blossom from May until the end of July and she opens up her garden to show her collection of peonies and to share a meal in a lovely garden just as the summer is about to begin! The weather will not be a problem as we will stay in the atelier if rain falls.
Bento boxes with sushi from Alex sushi is included in the participation fee. Water will be provided. If you want something else to drink, please bring it yourselves. Onegaishimasu.
Venue: Wenche Gulbransen’s atelier at Glenneveien 228, Blylaget/Havstad, 1445 Nordre Frogn.
Fee: 250 (members)/ 300 (members (non-members).

Nesodden can most easily be reached by ferry (B10) from Aker Brygge. A corresponding bus no. 560 goes to Jaer via Blylaget/Havstad and takes another 20 minutes. We suggest to leave together at 16.13 from Aker Brygge and then we arrive at Nesoddtangen at 16.52. Get on bus 560 at Nesoddtangen and get off at bus stop Havstad. The garden and atelier is right at the bus stop. If going by car notice that estimated time is about 40 minutes and might be more in rush hour. There is car parking at the premises.
